Everything You Need To Know About Athletic Bowling (So Far)

Have you ever been told that you’re not an athlete and that bowling is just a joke? Yeah, I also know the feeling…

Hi there, my name is Sandro Perrino, and I want to officially welcome you to our first video ever..well kind of…today I just wanted to go ahead and tell you everything you need to know about Athletic Bowling (so far)… Let’s go!

  • First of all, What is Athletic Bowling?

Athletic Bowling is the brand that aims to become the true representation of millions of bowlers around the world who want recognition as ATHLETES. Bowling is surely a tough sport to practice and even harder to master. That’s why it is so frustrating for bowlers when they are not recognized as athletes, myself included, or when someone doesn’t recognize Bowling as a SPORT.

This brings me to the most daunting question for us:

  • Is Bowling a Sport?

An elite bowler, which is a person that competes professionally and bowls 6 to 15 or more games a day, will tell you of course bowling is a sport. A league bowler who competes in a league every week is also going to tell you that bowling is a sport. However, there is this big percentage of people that goes bowling with a couple of friends to have fun and some may grab a drink, and of course, they are going to tell you that there is no way in the world that bowling is a sport, it just isn’t a sport to them because they don’t see or experience the sport as the others do. It’s that simple.

I will go on and explain more about why bowling is a sport in another video, so make sure to click the subscribe button and the notification bell so that you’re the first to know when I release a new video.

Moving on,

Here are just the facts: to become an elite bowler it requires mental and physical strength, conditioning, flexibility, and just way too many years of experience and practice. Sure you could argue and tell me that you see a few professional bowlers on TV that are either out of shape, they are too big or too skinny, and they don’t look like athletes. And although you have your reasons to think that way, those professional bowlers who are “out of shape” are in great conditions to withstand 3 to 5 hours of bowling for 5 days in a row under challenging conditions.

  • Why did I create athletic bowling?

To begin with, I have been a bowler for as long as I can remember, so pretty much my whole life. Basically, I started competing when I was like 5 years old, which means that I have 23 years of experience in competitive bowling 😉 as of today.

I have traveled and competed in 5 different countries across the world, and yes I have experienced bowling as a sport all this time.

So this whole idea of Athletic Bowling started back in 2017 when bowling was making a strong run to get into the Olympic Games of 2020.

Back then, I wanted to create a global movement to support the cause and make sure we got Bowling into the Olympics for the first time. Therefore, I created Olympic Bowling Official. Fast forward a year in 2018, I had to shut down the idea because, well, long story short, I couldn’t make it happen, after putting in a lot of effort.

Then, in 2018-2019, I thought about retaking on the idea and I was determined to create something even better as part of my Capstone project for my Master’s Degree, a few months of hard work, and…Athletic Bowling was born in March 2019. And now, here we are. So to answer why did I create Athletic Bowling?

I did it because I was tired of not truly being recognized as an Athlete, and I was also tired to think that one day when I become a true professional bowler, I wouldn’t want others to look at me on TV and believe that what I do is a joke.

What I would like to happen is that most people understand and recognize the professional bowlers as athletes whenever they watch Bowling on a TV Show for the Finals of a Professional Tournament whether they are in the US, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, or anywhere else in the world.

I could give you 100,000 reasons more, but I gotta keep this video short, so let’s move on.

  • What’s the meaning behind the logo?

Athletic Bowling’s logo symbolizes one of the two pillars of our sport, a bowling pin. The pin has 5 stripes each one representing a continent with athletes, just like in the 5 rings of the Olympic Games. The main color of the pin is Gold as it symbolizes the maximum prize for winning an athletic competition, the gold medal.

  • What’s my mission and vision with Athletic Bowling?

Like with every respectable brand and while creating this whole thing. I had to think about our mission and vision and come up with a lot of statements to find what was what I truly wanted to create.

Obviously, I wanted to create something meaningful and this is what I came up with:

Our mission with Athletic Bowling is: To promote the recognition of bowlers as ATHLETES by creating global awareness so that Bowling is always recognized for what it truly is, a sport.

Therefore, our vision of Athletic Bowling is: To become the voice of millions of bowlers worldwide.

And there you have, this was everything you need to know about Athletic Bowling (so far).

Best of PBA WSOB 2020 Cheetah Championship in SLOW MOTION

This is the best of The World Series of Bowling XI Cheetah Championship.

Hi, this is a fellow bowler writing to you. I created this video with the best intentions to showcase the versatility and different ways the pros were attacking the Cheetah Pattern. ALL IN SLOW MOTION.

HOW SHOULD YOU BOWL THE CHEETAH PATTERN?

This is a very intriguing question among bowlers of all ages and competition levels.

As you can see, we can bowl on the Cheetah pattern with a multitude of angles, all of which have one thing in common: we must get the ball to the first 2 – 4 boards near the left or right gutter depending of which hand you bowl with.

The reason to this is to improve the carry percentage because of the entry angle of the ball.

All of the pros already knew this before starting to bowl, so how come a few of them still did well even when they didn’t get the ball to the far edges of the lanes?

The answer is because of a few different factors, like their ball of choice, ball speed, release angle (tilt and track), and lane transition.

Check out the video in slow motion over and over and see what you can learn every time you watch it. I already discovered a few things in the release of a few players.
